Harroway is the ultimate authority aboard Alcatraz and has the final say about everything that happens on board. The quintessential company man, his main responsibility is to the ship, protecting one of the Allegiant corporation's most expensive assets. Whenever the company accepts a new contract for Anvil Squadron, Harroway is the one who acts as an intermediary between the client and the squadron – briefing the pilots on what outcome the client expects them to deliver.

Prior to his employment with Allegiant, Harroway was a career Fleet officer who was drummed out of the service after a scandal broke in which he had no direct involvement, but which happened under his watch. Fearing a crisis of confidence, the Fleet brass made Harroway the scapegoat and removed him from his position in a show of “cleaning house” and making a new start. Not wanting to lose out on his invaluable experience, the Allegiant corporation wasted no time offering him a job.

Blake is the paramilitary equivalent of a middle manager – a low-ranking rung on the corporate ladder who has been given a small taste of power and has allowed it to go straight to his head. He is responsible for keeping the convicts of Anvil Squadron in line, and making sure they do as they're told or else risk being summarily executed. He also serves as the squadron's hate-sink, deflecting the convicts' anger and resentment away from those in charge and towards himself.

He was a military aviator earlier in his life, but left to work for Allegiant because the pay was better. His callsign “Doomhammer” is one he picked for himself because he unironically thinks it makes him look like a badass. His secret shame is that back during his military days, he was known as “Slush” because he very badly wanted to be called “Iceman” but his squadron mates didn't think he was cool enough.

As the senior-most mechanic aboard Alcatraz, Rockwell is responsible for the repair, maintenance, and customization of Anvil Squadron's aerospace craft. A brilliant self-taught engineer, he is accustomed to performing miracles on a shoestring budget. He pushes his team hard but never treats them unfairly, and so is very well respected by those working under him.

Rockwell is inquisitive by nature and enjoys solving puzzles and working with his hands. He briefly studied aerospace engineering at university but found the formal academic environment stifling, and so dropped out in order to take a more hands-on approach to learning. He bluffed his way through an interview to land the job with Allegiant, and by the time his deception was discovered, he had already proven himself to be an irreplaceable asset and thus was allowed to stay.

Kady is in charge of Anvil Squadron's ordnance depot aboard Alcatraz and is thus responsible for the maintenance, stowing, issuing, and loading of all the squadron's weapons and munitions. All requisitions for equipment and upgrades go through him, and his approval or denial of those requests can literally mean the difference between life and death for a pilot – a situation he regularly exploits to his advantage. He also happens to be a black marketeer, with a reputation for fast deals and even faster talk. Kady is the one that people go to when they need something that's hard to find and need it quickly, and his extensive network of contacts (guys who know a guy) is legendary.

A hustler and conman, Kady has been wheeling and dealing since he learned to talk and doesn't think twice about burning bridges if it means a quick buck. This behavior often has the unfortunate tendency of coming back to haunt him, but he takes pride in never learning any lessons. He firmly believes that whatever comes his way, he can roll with the punches and talk his way out while turning a tidy profit along the way.
